Who we are
Winkeys: Windows Shortcuts for Mac (“Winkeys,” “we,” “us”) is built and operated by Yash Vadaria, a solo indie developer in Montreal, Canada. This policy covers the Winkeys macOS app and winkeys.app.
What we collect
We do not collect your name, physical location, contacts, photos, or browsing history.
- Email. Only if you type it in, for example to download Basic, buy Premium, or write to support. We use it to send your download or activation code and to reply to you.
- Anonymous app counts (TelemetryDeck). The Mac app sends a few event names so we can see how many people start and stop shortcuts. These signals are not tied to your name, email, or identity. We look at totals, not individual people. Typical events: app launched, shortcuts started, shortcuts stopped.
- Website traffic. The marketing site uses Google Analytics for aggregate page views. We do not use this to identify you personally.
- Payments. Premium checkout is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card number. Stripe may process payment details under their own privacy policy.
What we do not collect
- Personal names as a required account field
- GPS, IP-based location profiles, or a home address from the app
- Keystroke contents, Winkeys remaps shortcuts locally on your Mac
- Advertising profiles or sale of personal data
Accessibility permission is required so remapping can work. That permission stays on your Mac. We do not receive a copy of what you type.
How we use information
- Deliver the app, license codes, and support replies
- See whether Start/Stop is working in aggregate so we can improve the product
- Process one-time Premium payments
- Meet legal obligations if we are required to
Sharing
We do not sell your information. We may share limited data with service providers who help run Winkeys (email delivery, Stripe, TelemetryDeck, website analytics), under their own terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the email we have for you. Email windowsshortcutsmac@gmail.com. Because TelemetryDeck events are anonymous counts, we cannot look up “your” telemetry record.
Changes
We may update this page. The “Last updated” date at the top is the effective date.
